India vs Bangladesh, 3rd T20I: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Harshit Rana was unavailable for selection after he couldn’t join Team India in Hyderabad for the crucial match.
In the third T20I between India and Bangladesh, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and elected to bat first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The Indian squad made one change, bringing in leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi in place of left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh. On the other side, Bangladesh made two adjustments to their playing XI. Despite speculations about his potential debut, KKR pacer Harshit Rana didn’t feature in the match as he was unable to travel with the team from Delhi to Hyderabad.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed in an official statement that Harshit Rana was suffering from a viral infection, which ruled him out of the third T20I. “Mr. Harshit Rana was unavailable for selection for the third T20I due to a viral infection and did not travel with the team to the stadium,” the BCCI clarified following the toss.
India has already secured the T20I series with a 2-0 lead after convincing victories in the first two matches. India won the first T20I in Gwalior by 7 wickets and followed it up with an emphatic 86-run win in the second game in Delhi. Captain Suryakumar Yadav emphasized the importance of maintaining focus despite winning the series.
“Happy Dussehra to everyone, and great to see the crowd here despite us leading 2-0. It’s crucial to stick to our good habits and not get complacent after winning the series. We want to give freedom to the batters and set a solid target,” Suryakumar mentioned during the toss.
Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto, after losing the toss, said that bowling first suited his team’s plans. “I’m happy to bowl first. It’s all about taking responsibility as a batting group, and we hope to put up a special performance today,” he stated.
